Adjournment motions disallowed

Speaker Nadendla Manohar disallowed the adjournment motions moved by TRS and TDP which led to strong protests from the parties.

As soon as the Assembly was convened, members of TRS and TDP rushed to the podium pressing for their adjournment motion and demanded a discussion in the house. The speaker said that the motions were disallowed, which led to commotion. The TRS moved the adjournment motion on a resolution on Telangana and the arrests of Telangana leaders during the Sadak Bandh.

TDP gave an adjournment motion on the power crisis and wanted the chair to take up the issue immediately. TDP members raised the issue yesterday as well and when the house was adjourned without taking up the issue, they sat in the House as a mark of protest.

After nearly 12 hours of protest, they were ejected out of the house by marshals late in the night.
