Andhra Pradesh Non-Gazetted Officers (Apngos) Association president Ashok Babu on Monday threatened to launch 'Assembly Gherao' agitation if the Telangana Bill is sent to the State Legislative Assembly.
Speaking to media persons after participating in the steering committee meeting of Samaikhyandhra Rashtra Parirakshnana Samithi at Apngos Bhavan here, Ashok Babu appealed to the President of India Mr Pranab Mukherjee to stop the Bill. However, he said massive agitation would be launched if the Bill is sent to the State Legislature. He said that different protests including road and rail blockades would be organised in protest against the Bill.
Ashok Babu also claimed that Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy has assured that the Telangana Bill would be defeated in the State Legislative Assembly. He said that the Apngos would also meet the floor leaders of all parties seeking their support against the Bill.
