Shankar Rao welcomes Rahul Gandhi's candidature

Former Minister Dr P Shankar Rao on Monday welcomed the moves to make Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi party's Prime Ministerial candidate for next elections.

Speaking to media persons at the Assembly media point here, Shankar Rao said that Rahul Gandhi has now become a matured politician and his candidature would draw the youth of the country towards the party. He said that the Congress party has a long history of serving people and addressing their needs and it would do well under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi.

Condemning the criticism done by BJP senior leader M Venkaiah Naidu on the Congress party, Shankar Rao said that a leader who has accused of encroaching upon Dalit lands have no right to criticise the party.
