Congress MLA Anam Vivekananda Reddy here on Wednesday expressed regret over the delay in taking up the agitation for united Andhra Pradesh.
Speaking to media persons here, Anam said that the delay in launching the Samaikhyandhra agitation resulted in introduction of Telangana Bill. He said that the impact would have been different if the agitation would have had been launched six months ago. Since there was calm in Seemandhra region, the Centre mistook it for agreement for Telangana formation and began the bifurcation process. He also expressed regret that senior leaders like S Jaipal Reddy were supporting the Telangana demand for political gains.
Anam requested the legislators from Seemandhra region to oppose the Telangana Bill in the Assembly and Council.
