Asaduddin Owaisi files nomination for Hyderabad

Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (Mim) President Asaduddin Owaisi filed his nomination papers for Hyderabad Lok Sabha seat here on Thursday.

Speaking to media persons later, Asaduddin Owaisi expressed confidence that the Mim would not only win Hyderabad Lok Sabha seat but increase its tally in the Assembly in the ensuing elections. He defended his party's policy of not coming out with manifesto during elections. He said the parties usually cheat the voters by making false promises. However, the Mim believes in staying with the people in their good and bad times.

Asaduddin Owaisi also announced that his party would contest the elections alone. He claimed that both Congress and TRS wanted to have an alliance with the Mim. However, the Mim has decided to go alone in the ensuing polls. He said that the Mim, which already released the list of candidates for seven Assembly segments that it won in 2009 elections, would field candidates from other constituencies too.

The Mim leader is hoping to win the elections from Hyderabad Lok Sabha for the third consecutive term.
