Telugu Desam Party president Nara Chandrababu Naidu asked his partymen not to rest till TDP comes to power in Telangana State.
Addressing the extended session of Telangana TDP leaders at NTR Trust Bhavan here on Friday, Naidu claimed that it was the TDP Government that brought development in Telangana and promoted Hyderabad as a global city. He asked the TDP workers to work with the same spirit and ensure that they highlight the problems being faced by the people of this region. He advised the TDP workers to launch agitation at the village level on the public issues.
Naidu said that the TDP workers should not tone down their activities fearing harassment by other parties. He alleged that efforts were being made to harass and even assassinate the TDP leaders and workers. He assured that the TDP would ensure individual growth and welfare of all party workers. He informed them that a corpus fund of Rs 20 crore has been set up for the welfare of TDP workers.
During the meeting, the TDP leaders also reviewed the party's performance in the recent elections.
Speaking on the occasion, TDP senior leader Motkupalli Narasimhulu said that the TDP would play a crucial role in the new State. He accused Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao of playing with the lives of farmers by going back on the promise of loan waiver scheme. He also demanded Rs 10 ex-gratia for the farmers who committed suicide.
The newly elected MLAs and other senior leaders participated in the extended session.
