Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao held a high-level review meeting on the security situation with senior officials at the State Secretariat here on Friday.
The meeting was attended by Director General of Police Anurag Sharma, Intelligence chief B Shivdhar Reddy and Hyderabad Police Commissioner Mahender Reddy. During the meeting, Kcr reviewed the law and order situation in the State, especially Hyderabad. He reportedly asked the Hyderabad police chief to submit a report on the installation of CCTV cameras as the strategic locations in the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad.
Kcr has reportedly sought information on the cases booked during the Telangana agitation. It may be mentioned that the TRS has promised to withdraw all the cases booked during Telangana Million March and other protests. Therefore, he asked the DGP to submit a status report on the cases registered against Telangana activists and the process to be adopted by the government to withdraw them, sources said.
Interestingly, Home Minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy was not present during Kcr's review meeting. However, the DGP and other officials met the Home Minister after the review meeting.
