Tirupati, July 11 (TNN): Five people including a woman died so far following the flash strike launched by Junior Doctors at Government Ruia Hospital in the temple town on Monday.The Junior Doctors resorted to a snap strike following attack on their colleague by the relatives of one Gopi (28), who succumbed to his injuries in the hospital, alleging medical negligence. They are demanding the arrest of guilty and book criminal cases against them.
These incidents are on the rise and we have received complaints from other districts too,” the Junior Doctors said.
But Hospital Superintendent Mr Venkateswarulu said that government has taken all necessary steps and doctors can attend duty safely.He denied the deaths occurred in the hospital were not due to flash strike by doctors.
He said that the government had deployed additional to meet any eventuality, including emergency wards in the hospital. As many as 200 Junior Doctors have boycotted the ward duties since Monday demanding provide security for them
