Khammam, Dec 2: The house cum office of former Union minister Renuka Chowdhury in Khammam, was allegedly attacked by supporters of the Telangana Rashtra Samiti activists late on Tuesday night.According to sources, the doors and windows of the office were damaged when TRS workers torched the office after throwing petrol on it.The agitated TRS workers fled the scene after setting the office on fire. Acting swiftly, security personnel brought the fire under control.
The Police recovered a letter written by TRS workers threatening to carry out more such attacks to protest the arrest of their party president K. Chandrasekhara Rao.The TRS activist also wanted to enter the heavily protected house of the Congress leader but they were intervened by the neighbours.The agitated TRS supporters then threw a burning cloth inside Chowdhary’s house protesting over her anti-Telangana stance.The Superintendent of Police, Khammam has confirmed that some TRS supporters have attacked the Congress leader’s house.The attackers left a threat letter addressed to Renuka, who is considered to be against Telangana statehood.
