Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Thursday said that the modernisation of Hyderabad and Cyberabad police is being taken up to get international recognition for the police force.

Speaking after handing over 100 Innovas and 200 bikes to the Hyderabad and Cyberabad police at Tank Bund here, KCR assured that the State Government would modernise the entire police force in the next few months. He also assured that the CCTV cameras would be installed across the city in the next three months for round-the-clock surveillance. Further, the traffic control and management will be improved on the Mumbai-model, he said.

KCR also announced that an integrated police complex would be constructed on eight acres of land at Banjara Hills. He also indicated that the government would act tough against the club-culture and only Telangana culture would be promoted.

The Chief Minister asked the police personnel to be friendly with the people. Expressing satisfaction over the crime rate in Hyderabad and Cyberabad, he said the crime rate could be brought down further with effective policing. He hoped that the modernisation would help the police in controlling the crime and maintenance of law and order.

Home Minister Naini Narasimha Redddy also advised the police to improve its image among the people. He insisted on effective coordination between Hyderabad and Cyberabad police commissionerates. He said technology would be used to improve the communication network among all police stations in Telangana State.

Director of Police Anurag Sharma said that there would no comprise on the law and order issue in the State. He thanked the Chief Minister for the steps taken to modernise the police force.

Ministers - Pocharam Srinivas Reddy and Mahender Reddy, Deputy Speaker Padma Devender Reddy, GHMC Mayor Mohammed Majid Hussain, Commissioners M Mahender Reddy and CV Anand and other officials were present on the occasion.
