Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee president Ponnala Lakshmaiah on Wednesday announced that the Congress party would enter the mode of agitation against the TRS Government from September 12.
Speaking to media persons at his residence, Ponnala said that the Congress had earlier announced that it would begin its agitation against the failures of TRS Government after the completion of 100 days of new regime. Therefore, he said that the party would organise dharnas at all district headquarters, except Medak due to by-elections. He said all senior leaders and workers would participate in dharnas to be organised across nine districts of Telangana.
Ponnala said that the TRS Government has failed to perform up to the expectations of the people. Although the Congress tried to play the role of a constructive opposition party, it would now adopt the agitation route to ensure that the problems being faced by the people get resolves. He asked people of Medak Lok Sabha constituency to question the TRS Ministers, MPs and MLAs on the status of the promises made by their party during elections. He alleged that the State Government has been confined to a few individuals and Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has been ruling like a monarch.
