DS asks students to shun violence

Hyderabad,Dec 6: Pradesh Congress Committee president D Srinivas on Saturday assured the students of Osmania University that he would take up the issue of separate Telangana with Congress president Sonia Gandhi.He appealed to the students to shun the path of violence and adopt a Gandhian way without causing inconvenience to the people.Earlier, the Osmania University students picketed Srinivas' house demanding that he bring pressure on party high command and inform it of the situation in Hyderabad .

After the fast taken up by KCR.They also urged him to mount pressure on the Centre to introduce a Bill on Telangana in the winter session of Parliament.The PCC chief said the high command would take an appropriate decision on Telangana Statehood at the right time.The students also picketed the houses of newly elected Mayor Karthika Reddy, Nalgonda Congress MP G Sukender Reddy and Congress MLA Konda Surekha seeking Sonia’s intervention in the issue.
