Launching the enrolment of membership drive here on Saturday, he said the Bjp could not able to increase its voting percentage in these elections due to entry of new parties and split of votes.

Pointing out the party’s voting percentage was 3.8 per cent in the general elections, he said the party would discuss all election related issues in its 'Chintan Bhaitak' to be held in September next.

He said that the booth and mandal level committees would be formed from September 1 to 15 to strengthen party at grassroot level.

He said the elections to district committees and state president would be held in October. The election for the post of party’s national president would be held in December next, he added.

 CONVENE ALL-PARTY MEET

Dattatreya urged the government to convene an all-party meeting to discuss the prevailing drought conditions due to deficit rainfall in the state.

He alleged that the Chief Minister Dr Y S Rajasekhara Reddy had failed to evolve alternative agriculture plan to help the farmers, who were staging agitation for the last two months.

He demanded the government should supply seeds to the farmers at free of cost, besides providing loans.

He also appealed government to estimate the loss of damaged crops due to poor rainfall and shortage of power and pay compensation for them.
