Rosaiah’s call to maintain law, order in the state

Hyderabad, Dec 17:The United Andhra movement which is now  rocking the Coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema regions  is a  spontaneous  one from the people and not sponsored by any  political  party, says Andhra Pradesh Chief  Minister K Rosaiah here on Thursday.Speaking to the media at the secretariat, the CM  said under these circumstances the Government will not shirk from its responsibilities and do its  best to maintain law  and order in the state.  In this regard he sought the cooperation of all political parties and the people.Initially, it was the Telangana movement which triggered protests, rallies, fasts and bandhs that turned violent. Just at a time when normalcy seemed to be limping back in the state, the united Andhra movement started in Coastal and Rayalaseema regions disrupting  normal life.

Everyone is free to express his or her desire over  a contentious issue like the separate statehood for Telangana, but  it should be done in a peaceful way, the CM explained.For the past 20 days, the development in the state has taken a back  seat and the normal life in the Coastal, and Seema regions has been  disrupted, he lamented.This is not the time for us to indulge in the blame game finding fault with the political parties, who are responsible for the present turmoil, he suggested and emphasized that we should come together by cutting across partylines and overcoming regional barriers to maintain the law and order in the  state.Referring to the closure of all educational institutions, the Chief Minister said all the universities, colleges and schools in Telangana would be reopened on Dec 21.Referring to the resignation of MLAs, he observed that it was for the Speaker to decide about their resignations.
