Deputy CLP leader in Assembly T Jeevan Reddy on Thursday described the proposed 'Grama Jyothi' scheme as a new publicity stunt by TRS Government.
Addressing a press conference here, Jeevan Reddy asked Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao to explain as to how he proposes to arrange Rs. 25,000 crore for the 'Grama Jyothi' scheme. He said instead of resorting to 'publicity stunts', the TRS Government should increase the salaries of Gram Panchayat employees from present Rs. 1500-2000 per month to Rs. 10,000. Similarly, the salaries of Revenue and Panchayat Secretaries should also be increased.
Jeevan Reddy asked the State Government to allocated adequate funds for the development of village and Gram Panchayats. He also slammed the government for not implementing the SC, ST Sub-Plan across the Telangana State.
