PM should have made statement on Land Bill in Parliament: Kavitha

TRS MP K. Kavitha on Monday condemned Prime Minister Narendra Modi for making a statement on Land Acquisition Ordinance in 'Mann Ki Baat' programme. Speaking to media persons at her residence here, Kavitha said that the Prime Minister should have made this important announcement in the Parliament and not in a radio programme. She alleged that Narendra Modi had stayed away from the Parliament during last session and tried to lower the prestige of supreme law making body. She said that the statement on allowing Land Acquisition Ordinance should have been made in the Parliament so as to enable all members to have a proper debate on the issue. Kavitha also alleged that the Central Government has failed to address the problems being faced by the farmers across the country. She asked the Centre to give a concrete assurance to the farmers. She also asked the Prime Minister to conduct State-wise review on the farmers' issues.
