Rajahmundry, Dec 23: The agitation for the Integrated Andhra Pradesh is the outcome of ruffled passions following the December 10 announcement by the Centre on the division of the state, said actor and Praja Rajyam Party supremo K Chiranjeevi.Chiranjivi told newsmen on Wednesday that the stir is not political and all sections of people are behind the united Andhra Pradesh.
The Capital Hyderabad is no one's inheritance in particular, he pointed out.As part of his campaign for an integrated Andhra Pradesh, Chiranjeevi has been touring the East Godavari district. He took part in a torch procession at Amalapuram and extended solidarity with the fasting leaders in the district. Expressing concern over the deteriorating health of fasting leaders, Chiranjeevi criticized the Centre for not responding properly to the agitation for Coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema regions.
He said he would also tour the Telangana districts soon as part of his campaign.He condemned the attack on the crew of a film starring Manchu Manoj Kumar, son of former Rajya Sabha member M Mohanbabu, at Kompali (Pet Bashirabad) on Hyderabad city outskirts by the Telangana Rashtra Samiti activists. He asked TRS leader K Chandrasekhara Rao to maintain restraint till the Centre announces a clear decision on its stand on Telangana state.
