Hyderabad, Aug 3 :-
Taking a dig at Chief Minister Dr. Y S Rajasekhar Reddy, the Telugu Desam Chief Chandrababu Naidu dared the Chief Minister for a referendum on the subject `during whose regime the city of Hyderabad had developed’. Speaking in the Assembly on Monday he said ``the people of Hyderabad know who had developed Hyderabad to its present status.’’
He further added that it was only during his regime the road widening programs had taken place, along with the construction of flyovers and beautifying the city with parks and making efforts to make it a clean and green city in the country.
The TDP Chief voiced his challenge by opting to take permanent retirement form active politics if he loses the referendum. Will Dr YSR take up this gauntlet, he quipped.
``It was the Chief Minister who was responsible for so many interruptions during the proceedings of the Assembly sessions in the last six days. When I was speaking on the issue of Metro Rail Project in the House, it was the Chief Minister who threw aspersions on me and interrupted the proceedings,’’ he explained.
In the name of failure of Monsoons in the state he is amassing huge funds to fill his coffers.
Chandrababu reminded the Cm, state of Congress party in the 1994 elections during which time they hardly won 24 seats and even lost the status of an opposition party.
