Telangana Congress leaders have strongly condemned the statement of BJP President G. Kishan Reddy wherein he advised AICC Vice-President Rahul Gandhi to change his name by suffixing names of Afzal Guru or Yakub Memon.
Speaking to media persons at Gandhi Bhavan, Rajya Sabha MP V. Hanumantha Rao said that the Congress party never encouraged terrorism or anti-national activities. He alleged that the BJP was trying to divide the nation on the basis of religion. He said instead of asking Rahul Gandhi to change his name, BJP leaders should rename Prime Minister Narendra Modi after Bin Laden. He strongly condemned the attack on journalists by the activists and sympathisers of Sangh Parivar.
Addressing a separate press conference, TPCC Working President Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka also condemned Kishan Reddy's statement and warned him against making remarks against Rahul Gandhi.
