Rosaiah, KCR & co. take T-business to Delhi

Hyderabad, Jan 4: After a month-long Telangana agitation, punctuated by indefinite fasts, shutdowns,  road blockades,  rail and rasta-rokos,  the scene now shifts to New Delhi with senior party leaders from the region heading for the Capital on Monday.Hectic political activity is expected to be witnessed in New Delhi during the next 24 hours as leaders of all parties from the State would be camping there.Even before the Jan 5 conclave begins, the political scene is hotting up in Delhi with the parties chalking out their strategies to influence the Centre’s decision on Telangana.

Each of the eight recognized political parties i.e., the Congress, Telugu Desam, Praja Rajyam, Bharaitya Janata Party, Telangana Rashtra Samiti, Communist Party of India, Communist Party of India Marxists and the Majlis Ittehad-ul-Muslimeen (MIM) is sending two representatives for the Jan 5 conclave.The conclave is expected to be a stormy affair as deep differences between leaders from Telangana and non-Telangana regions persist.

 Protests and road and rail-rokos are planned for Tuesday in Telangana for a separate state. The Coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema opposing the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh have called for a  bandh on Monday.The ruling Congress and the main Opposition Telugu Desam in  the State are virtually divided on regional lines with leaders from Telangana pitching for a separate state and those from coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema regions rooting  for a united Andhra Pradesh.
