DS, Lakshmikanth Rao to file nomination papers today

TRS leaders Dharmapuri Srinivas and Capt. Lakshmikantha Rao will file their nomination papers for the Rajya Sabha elections on May 31.

Speaking to media persons in Assembly premises on Monday, Finance Minister Eatala Rajender and Home Minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy said that both the TRS candidates were likely to get unanimously. Eatala welcomed the decision of Congress party for not contesting the Rajya Sabha elections due to lack of strength in Assembly. He said Rajya Sabha elections were being held in Telangana State for the first time and they would result in increasing the TRS strength in the Upper House of Parliament. He informed that Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao and MIM leaders would be present on the occasion of filing of nomination papers by Lakshmikantha Rao and DS.

Nayani said that the election of Srinivas to Rajya Sabha would help the Telangana State in getting more funds from the Centre as he was highly experienced and skilled.

Eatala and Nayani also reviewed arrangements for the visit of the Chief Minister to TRS Legislature Party office.
