YSRCP seeks disqualification of AP Speaker

A delegation of YSR Congess Party leaders, led by Ambati Ram Babu, met State Chief Electoral Officer Bhanwar Lal and demanded the disqualification  of AP Assembly Speaker Kodela Siva Prasad for having admitted to spending over 11 crore for winning the Assembly polls. The YSRC submitted a memorandum to the CEO demanding the immediate disqualification of the Speaker.

Speaking to media persons later, Ambati Ram Babu said that the Speaker had admitted openly during an interview to a news channel that he had spend money exceeding the Election Commission’s prescribed limit, which is a gross violation of the rules. He said that if no action is initiated against the Speaker, then party would seek legal advice and chart out future course of action on the issue. Party MLAs and other senior leaders were part of the delegation.
