Nizamabad Mp and TRS leader K. Kavita slammed TD leader N. Lokesh for his comments advising the TS leaders to declare their assets.
Addressing the 'Meet The Press' programme organised by Hyderabad Press Club here on Friday, the TRS leader asked Lokesh to concentrate on the AP affairs rather than interfering in Telangana affairs. Lokesh had declared the details about the assets owned by his family and had demanded the leaders of the Telugu states to follow the suit. He also demanded the details about the properties in the new districts in Telangana.
Reacting to Lokesh’s statement, Kavita said that the TD leader should concentrate on the development of AP and it would be better for him not to meddle with the Telangana affairs. She said that though the TS Cabinet had no women, what matters the most is the state’s pro-woman policies aimed at empowering the women folk. She said that it was laughable that the Chandrababu Naidu once equated himself with social worker Anna Hazare and is now declaring assets saying that he is committed to the people’s welfare.
Kavita also slammed Congress leader Digvijay Singh saying that it has become routine for the congress leaders to level baseless allegations against the state government. She said that the TRS government was committed to the farmers’ welfare and was giving top priority to the farm sector. Taking a dig at the Congress leaders, she said that the TRS government does not need any lesson from a party which completely destroyed the farm sector during its rule.
With regard to Bathukamma festival, Kavita said that the floral fete of Telangana has got widespread recognition in the last two years. She said that the Telangana culture is witnessing a golden era as the state government is giving utmost importance in promoting state’s culture.
Speaking on Pak artists in Bollywood Kavita said, “I’m a true patriot, I believe in this time of confusion, where Pakistan is time and again striking our country. When sports personalities are boycotting playing with Pakistan, Bollywood should reconsider working with Pakistani actors. When it is time to display patriotism, tokenism won't work."
