Andhra, Seema Cong leaders misleading Centre: Danam

Hyderabad, Jan 21: Setting  aside the Greater Hyderbad  issue, Health Minister Danam Nagender here on Thursday declared his commitment to support Telangana statehood.Interacting with the media persons at the Jubilee hall here, the  Health Minister said the leaders from Coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema were deceiving the senior Congress leaders in Delhi and creating hurdles in the way of Telangana state formation.Leaders like Kavuri Samabasiva Rao with vested business interests in Hyderabad are working over-time for the integrated Andhra Pradesh, Danam remarked.

The leaders from the Coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema should act in a humanitarian way on the Telangana issue. Instead of assisting the senior Congress leadership in hammering out a solution, they were misleading them, the Minister observed.``If we want, we too can influence the High Command in a more powerful way than the leaders of Coastal and Rayalseema regions. But that is not the solution. We should put forth the facts and work towards an amicable solution,’’ Danam said.

The Minister appealed to the students not to take extreme steps such as suicides, which will be painful. It is the youth, who are the state's future leaders and hence, they should not lose hope before resorting to extreme steps.Referring to the demand for resignations of elected members, he said such acts would not force the Centre to come out with a solution to the Telangana issue.
