CPM State Secretary Tammineni Veerabhadram on Monday said that the TRS Government was focusing more on spending on temples than spending on the people’s welfare.
Speaking at a programme as part of the party’s Mahajana padayatra in Mahbubabad, Veerabhadram said that the priorities of Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao are government are different as the state government is spending heavily on construction of temples and their renovation than working for the welfare of the masses. He said that his party was not against religion, but suggested the government to focus on the people by providing better medical and education services.
The CPM leader said that the KCR government failed in providing basic facilities in state-run schools. He said that students are suffering due to lack of basic facilities like infrastructure, drinking water, furniture at schools. He said that said that development was not possible until basic infrastructure was not provided to the people and added that development only happens when political power comes in to the hands of the working class. He said CPM fight will continue until that happens.
Veerabhadram said that the TRS government which promised to work for the welfare of the masses was also working for the corporate sector. Tribal lands are being taken away only to be given to big companies, he said referring to government’ decision to explore Uranium in Amrabad in Nagarkurnool.
