Hyderabad, Jan 25: Overruling the JAC resolutions, Congress MPs, MLAs, MLCs and Ministers from the Telangana districts led by Congress Working Committee member Kesav Rao on Monday decided to take up the Telangana cause independently. The elected leaders who met here on Monday discussed at length the resolutions of Telangana political Joint Action Committee and decided to take up the fight for Telangana Independently.
To this effect the elected representatives of Congress from Telangana would leave for Delhi on Tuesday to lobby with the party High command for a “favourable” decision on separate Statehood. The Congress leaders have decided not to succumb to the pressures of deadlines set by JAC. They felt the JAC's demands have the potential to create a constitutional crisis which may dump the T-bus aside.Contacted by newsmen, Kesava Rao said he was not leading any delegation to Delhi, but was only part of a team with Telangana agenda.
Speaking to the media, senior Congress MLA R Damodara Reddy said ``We discussed the issue at length. We are all united. We have resolved that we are ready for any sacrifice.”The delegation during their stay in Delhi will meet Defence Minister A.K Antony and Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee, to appraise them of the surcharged atmosphere in the wake of suicides committed by MCA student K Venugopal Reddy.
