Warangal, Jan 25: District Congress Committee president and MLA G V Ramana Reddy on Monday urged Andhra and Rayalaseema Congress leaders to put forward their grievances before party High Command and not rush to the press for theTelangana statehood demand.Taking exception to the remarks made by MP Kavuri Sambhasiva Rao and former minister J C Diwakar Reddy, the MLA said Congress leaders should not rush to the media to air their views.
“The statements by leaders are confusing and provoking the people further. The leaders should have some sense of responsibility before issuing such statements. The separate Telangana issue involves the sentiments of four crore people,” he said.“The ongoing Telangana movement has affected the students, employees and farmers. Cutting across the party-lines, people from all walks of life, are taking part in the agitation.
The present state only reflected the intensity of the movement and strong desire for separate state among the people,” Congress MLAs Ramana Reddy and K Sridhar pointed out.Welcoming the statements of MP Undavalli Arun Kumar, the DCC president requested him to take a lead in convening a meeting of party leaders of all regions to sort out the issue amicably.
