Chiru launches padayatra to curb prices spiral

Guntur, Jan 27: Praja Rajyam leader K Chiranjeevi on Wednesday demanded that the Government set up a mechanism with a corpus fund of Rs 500 crores to contain prices of essential commodities.The Prp supremo made this demand after flagging off a road march at Brahmananda Reddy Stadium towards Collector’s office here and alleged the Government miserably failed to check the rising prices.

Adding further burden on the consumer, the state Government has raised the APSRTC fares and Value Added Tax on consumer goods, he lamented and warned of an intensified agitation in the districts until concerted efforts were made to roll back the soaring prices.
