Hyderabadto be made a ‘world-class city’: CM

Hyderabad, July 14 (TNN): The Chief Minister, Dr Y S Rajasekhara Reddy, wants Hyderabadmade a world-class city and Andhra Pradesh to become the most preferred destination for investors in Asia.
 
Inaugurating the Road-over-Bridge at Seetaphalmandi built at a cost of Rs 8 crore on Tuesday, the Chief Minister said that the Government would prepare a master plan in three months to strengthen infrastructure in Hyderabad, including removal of traffic bottlenecks and road widening works, as part of its efforts to make it a ‘world-class city’.
 
He said once the daily water supply and power self-sufficiency became a reality in Hyderabadand other urban areas, the State would be top in the world map as an investor’s destination.
 
 
He said that a detailed project report for road widening to de-congest traffic at a cost of Rs 550 crore has been submitted to the Centre for sanction under JNNURM.
 
Dr Reddy said proposal for sanction of MMTS under phase-II at a cost of Rs 614 crore was pending with the Ministry of Railways for providing connectivity from Secunderabad to Medchal and other areas.
 
 
The Chief Minister said the traffic bottlenecks in the city will be removed and roads widened on a war-footing. Parks will be developed all around Hussainsagar Lake and along the Necklace Roadas part of the beautification of the lake. Over 200 parks are being developed in colonies at a cost of Rs 20 crore. Of those, 52 were completed and the rest of 148 will be completed by October this year, he added.
 
 
The CM also laid foundation stone for Prashanthi, Senior Citizen Housing Colony and inspected model units of Sahabhavana Township by Rajiv Swagruha Corporation constructed at a cost of Rs 460 crore. He inaugurated LIG Housing Colony at Bandlaguda built by AP Housing Board (Rs 21 crore).
 
He also inaugurated Urdu Model School behind Falaknuma Palace built by the AP Housing Corporation (Rs 6 crore).
Rajasekhara Reddy laid foundation stone for Maisaram Water Supply Zone being taken up by the HMWS&SB at a cost of Rs 14 crore. Later, he laid foundation stone for Bandlaguda Housing Colony (Rs 33 crore).
 
The CM inspected the Outer Ring Road (ORR) Package-V, Phase-IIA and Tukkuguda works.
 
He inaugurated the Noor Mohammad Kunta STP, near Agricultural University Gate and laid foundation stone for Rethibowli-Aramgarh Road (Rs 61 crore).
