Hyderabad, Feb 1: In response to a call for an emergency meeting, Telugu Desam MLAs who converged at NTR Trust Bhavan here on Monday to discuss the strategies the party should adopt in view of the Assembly sessions commencing on Feb 15.Presided over by party supremo Nara Chandrababu Naidu, the meeting attended by MLAs of Telangana, Coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema, discussed the issues to be raised during the Budget session and the strategies to be adopted by the party.The Telangana issue also came in for discussion during the meeting.
The leaders from Rayalaseema and coastal Andhra regions felt they should call for the statistics of funds spent on various developmental activities in various regions since 1956.Later in the afternoon, Naidu told the party activists from Visakhapatnam, West Godavari, Guntur, Prakasam and Hyderabad that ``the party will recognize the contributions made by the party workers at all levels and reward them suitably at the appropriate time.’’Lashing out at the Congress government for its failure to implement the welfare schemes, Chandrababu alleged ``the welfare schemes were not reaching the poor people. The Government was biased in its approach. We will take up the issue with the government.’’
