Rich tributes were paid to Former Prime Minister P V Narasimha Rao on his 96th birth anniversary on Wednesday.

Prominent leaders of different political parties offered floral tributes to the late Prime Minister at PV Gnana Bhoomi here on Wednesday. They also demanded that the Central Government confer Bharat Ratna to late Narasimha Rao.

Speaking on the occasion Animal Husbandry Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav described Narasimha Rao multi-talented personality and had command over several languages. By introducing economic reforms, he turned India into a model nation. He said by organising Narasimha Rao's birth and death anniversaries at the official level, TRS Government has paid real tributes to the son of Telangana.

BC Commission Chairman B.S. Ramulu said all citizens of India were still benefitting from Narasimha Rao's vision of globalisation.

BJP floor leader G. Kishan Reddy said Narasimha Rao used to respect every one, irrespective of their political affiliation. He said the BJP Government at the Centre has made a memorial at Shakti Marg in New Delhi in honour of Narasimha Rao. He said he would make representation with the Central Government to get Bharat Ratna for late Narasimha Rao.

Former Governor K. Rasaiah, Narasimha Rao's family members and other leaders also paid tributes to Narasimha Rao.

Meanwhile, IT Minister K. Tarakarama Rao paid glowing tributes to Narasimha Rao and Tweeted demanding Bharat Ratna for the late leader.

Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) also organised Narasimha Rao's birth anniversary celebrations at Gandhi Bhavan. Former PCC President Ponnala Lakshmaiah, TPCC Vice-President Dr. Mallu Ravi, ex-MP M. Anjan Kumar Yadav, Kumar Rao, G. Niranjan and other leaders paid floral tributes to late former Prime Minister. They also demanded Bharat Ratna for Narasimha Rao.
