Khammam, Feb 6: Communist Party of India activists staged a dharna in front of the Two Town police station in Khammam town on Saturday, demanding arrests of land grabbers who have occupied government flats at Ramana Gutta area.The activists, who had earlier taken out a rally from the party office to the police station through bypass road, NTR statue and government degree collage, demanded strict action against the land grabbers.
Cpi district leaderJakkula Laxmaiah led the rally and accused the police of supporting the encroachers.He said that, “The police are also acting in support of them” and warned that if the police did not book the cases against the alleged land grabbers, the Cpi will intensify the agitation.Party leaders Md Salam, M Srinivasa Rao and J Narshimha Rao took part in the dharna.
