Legislative Affairs Minister T. Harish Rao has strongly condemned Congress party for holding 'Chalo Assembly' rally on the first day of winter session of State Legislative Assembly on Friday.
Addressing a press conference at TRS Legislature Party office, Harish Rao said that the Congress leaders have no public issues to raise and therefore, they are trying to take refuge behind farmers. He said that the TRS Government has taken several unprecedented measures for the welfare of farmers and it was ready to debate the same in the House. Instead of participating in the discussion in the House, the Congress leaders preferred to hold protest outside Assembly only to gain media attention and draw political mileage. He said that the Congress party has become isolated in the House as all other opposition parties including the BJP and TDP have participated in the debate.
While other parties appear interested in participating in the debate in Assembly, Harish Rao alleged that the Congress members looks prepared to get suspended. He warned that the government would not allow the Congress party to disturb the proceedings of the House. He also alleged that the Congress leaders were worried about their political future as TRS Government has been implementing various welfare schemes successfully. He said all the pending irrigation projects have become functional or nearing completion. Farmers' loans have been waived off and the government is planning to give Rs. 8,000 per acre input subsidy for two crops in a year to farmers from next year. Farmers are getting free power for 24 hours and adequate godown stock has been created to preserve the produce.
Harish Rao advised Congress leaders to participate in the discussion in Assembly and Council in a peaceful manner without disturbing the proceedings.
