IT Minister K. Tarakarama Rao said that Telangana State was top in the country in digital transactions.

Addressing an event organised by Telangana Mee Seva Operators' Association at Ravindra Bharathi on Tuesday to mark the completion of 10 crore transactions, Ktr said quality services were being provided to people of Telangana through Mee Seva Centres. He said nearly 600 services were being provided to citizens on a single platform. He said more number of services would be added to Mee Seva in future.

Ktr said after demonitisation people were encouraged for digital transactions and subsequently, Telangana emerged on top in the country. He said that the State Government introduced T-Wallet to facilitate secure digital transactions and so far, nearly 3 lakh people have downloaded the application.

The minister said that the government was linking the entire State with fibre optics and the same would be used to provide medical services in rural areas. He said all households in the State would get internet connectivity which would enable introduction of Digital Literacy programmes. He said fibre optic cables were being laid along with water pipelines under Mission Bhagiratha programme. Therefore, people would get internet connections along with tap connections. He said that the government aims to make one crore people Digitally Literate.
