Ministers hailing from Telangana region on Thursday wrote to Chief Minister K Rosaiah alleging discrimination in giving promotions to Telangana people working in the Police Department.
Information Technology Minister Komati Reddy Venkat Reddy in a letter to the Chief Minister appealed to follow a uniform promotion policy for all regions and to rectify the anomalies that existed for Telangana people.
The Minister sought to bring it to the notice of Chief Minister the discriminations in promotions for Circle Inspectors in the Police Department from Telangana region.
The Minister said Sub-Inspectors of Police of 1989 batch got promotions as Circle Inspectors in 1998. Later, their promotion as Deputy Superintendent of Police was stopped though they have completed 12 years of service, he pointed out.
The Minister also collected the signatures of other ministers hailing from Telangana region and urged the Chief Minister to rectify the anomalies in the promotions to the Telangana people.
