Disillusioned by the autocratic style of functioning of  Telangana Joint Action Committee headed by Prof M Kodandaram, the Congress leaders on Friday bid `adieu' to  JAC.

In a bid to keep the Telangana movement alive, the Congress leaders formed a unit called ``Telangana Congress Action Committee” (TCAC), which will fight for the cause of Telangana.

The Congress leaders from Telangana , who met in the Assembly Committee Hall under the leadership of former home minister K Jana Reddy, appealed to the students of Osmania University to withdraw their proposed 'Chalo Assembly' rally planned for Saturday.

“We have full faith in the Congress high command. We appeal to the students not to get provoked and spoil their valuable career,” they said.

Expressing confidence in the Justice Srikrishna Committee, the Telangana Congress leaders said they would ask the Centre to reduce the tenure from 10 months to six. They said they would extend all cooperation to the Committee.
