Disband JAC or call it 'people's JAC: Gaddar

With the political parties bogged down by their personal agenda on the issue of Telangana, it is time to disband the Joint Action Committee and revamp it with new blood from the mandals, feels Telangana balladeer Gaddar (Gummadi Vittal Rao). The revamped JAC should be rechristened as people’s  JAC, Gaddar observed.

Lacking direction and guidance, the toothless JAC is a bane on the people of Telangana belying their hopes, the balladeer said.

"The people's JAC would have a representative from each mandal of the Telangana region. This body will  take decisions on the future course of action on the Telangana issue. Only the people’s JAC can serve the needs of Telangana people but  not the political parties,’’ Gaddar explained.

He also commented on the constitution of the Srikrishna panel as a means to deviate people's attention from the core issues.
