The Police Control Room here on Friday was rattled by a phone call at around 8 a.m which stated in Hindi that there is a bomb threat to the High Court.
The anonymous caller indicated that a bomb had been planted on the High Court premises. The police immediately pressed the Bomb Disposal Squad and sniffer dogs to scan the entire High Court building comlex.
The police asked the lawyers and the general public to vacate the court premises immediately.
"A thorough scanning was done to detect possible traces of explosives and it turned out to be a hoax call consequently," the police officials told newspersons.
The caller took pains to alert the police helpline No. 100 from a public telephone booth. The caller is being traced, the officials said.
