Movie lovers cannot forget Natasimha Balakrishna's blockbuster film Samarasimha Reddy. The film set a trend in Tollywood and Balakrishna's powerful performance, sensational dialogues and strong story, inspired many filmmakers to make action entertainers with Rayalaseema backdrop for many decades.
Chengala Venkat Rao who produced the film attained immense name and fame with the film turned out a blockbuster. He later went on to become an MLA in the 2004 elections from Payakaraopeta. However he later lost the 2009 elections and though he tested his luck once again in 2014 joining Jagan Mohan Reddy's YSRCP, he didn’t get favorable result.
