The Telugu Desam and Left parties on Tuesday staged a unique protest to draw the attention of Government on power crisis in the state.

Condemning the indifferent attitude of state government in tackling the power problem in the state, the Telugu Desam legislators  staged  dharna in front of Gun Park.

The members staged a unique dharna carrying lanterns and dummy transformers on their heads and raised slogans against government’s  failure in tackling power situation in the state.

Kovvur MLA, Rama Rao exhibited a farmer committing suicide due to power problem and women members staged a protest by washing their clothes and drying them on electric poles.

Tdp MLA, Errabali Dayakar Rao said the Opposition would continue to stage dharnas until the government regularizes power supply to farmers in villages.

The dharna was staged under the leadership of Tdp leader N Chandrababu Naidu. Left parties—Communist party of India and Communist party (Marxist) also extended their support to the dharna.

Later, the MLAs proceeded to the Assembly on a padayatra.
