Bharatiya Janata Party Floor Leader Kishan Reddy on Saturday urged the government to address the problems of home guards in the state.
Talking to reporters at the media point on the Assembly premises, he said that there are nearly 40,000 home guards working in various police stations without an off-day and were being paid meager wages.
He urged the government to provide all facilities for home guards like travelling allowance, dearness allowance and bus pass to better their living conditions.
He also urged the government to implement Minimum Wages Act for home guards and provide additional equipment on par with police to deal with anti-social elements.
