Don’t politicize drought issue: Chief whip

 The State Government Chief Whip, Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, on Thursday accused the Opposition parties of politicizing the drought issue for getting mileage.

Talking to media people at Media point in the assembly, the Chief Whip said that the Opposition parties are stalling the proceeding in the House only to get political mileage. He alleged that the Opposition parties are stalling proceedings frequently in the House only to get publicity.

“If they have real concern to solve the issue, they can discuss it with the Chief Minister, Dr Y S Rajasekhara Reddy, and Finance Minister K Rosaiah. Only through healthy dialogue, these issues can be solved and not through stalling proceedings in the House,” he quipped.

He alleged that the farmers and poor were neglected during the tenure of the Telugu Desam Government. Now, it is shedding crocodile tears on them to get publicity and political mileage, he charged.

He sought the cooperation of Opposition members to run the House smoothly and for healthy discussion on the issues. He blamed the Opposition members for their unruly behaviour in stalling the today’s House proceedings.
