Fans of former CM YSR and supporters of YSRCP party headed by his son Jagan Mohan Reddy are furious that Tollywood celebrities remained silent over the film Yatra, which highlighted important phase in YSR's life, his Paada Yatra, though critics showered praises on the film and Mammootty's performance.

Everyone got shocked as celebrities earlier showered praises on Balakrishna's NTR biopic Kathanayakudu and doing the same with the second part NTR Mahanayakudu showing their double standards. Director Mahi V Raghav appealed to fans not to pressurize anyone to praise Yatra.

In the midst of all this, Yatra makers got a great honor when none other than Vice President Venkaiah Naidu showered praises on the film. Speaking to scribes in Nellore, he said, "Recently I watched Yatra. It is very good. I give my life for farmers, traditions and heritage. The good deeds we do will make future generation remember us."

He added, “I will not forget my native place in whatever position I am in and everyone doing their job perfectly itself amounts to patriotism. I feel one should be available to people in public life but my post, security and respect associated to it is preventing me from mingling with the people. If North Indians learn to speak South Indian languages and South Indians learn to speak North Indian languages, integrity of the nation will be strengthened."

Yatra starred Malayalam star Mammootty in the lead and featured Rao Ramesh, Posani Krishna Murali, Jagapathi Babu, Sachin Khedekar, Nassar, Suhasini, Ashrita Vemuganti, Thotapalli Madhu and others in important roles.
