Resurvey of OMC to begin today

The resurvey ordered  by the Supreme Court in the Obulapuram  Mining Company episode, which  was scheduled comence on Friday has been postponed to Saturday due to the non-availability of infrastructure needed for the survey.

The apex court has ordered the conduct of the resurvey of the entire Obulapuram Mining Company. The resurvey would be done by the Survey of India officials along with the OMC  authorities. The allegation against the OMC is that it has encroached upon thousands of acres of  land for mining beyond what was allotted  by the  Government.

Further, it is also alleged that the Y S Rajasekhar Reddy government  had allotted the land to  Gali Brothers without calling for any  tenders. This led to the suspicision that  YSR’s family could have a share in the OMC activities.
