It is known that, Janasena Party chief Power Star Pawan Kalyan, who contested the elections from two Assembly constituencies- Gajuwaka and Bhimavaram, has lost both the seats. While he lost to YSRCP’s Grandhi Srinivas in Bhimavaram, he also trailed in Gajuwaka losing out to YSRCP’s Nagireddy Tippala.

Though the party had promised a new kind of politics and Pawan Kalyan had focused his campaign mainly on the Godavari region the party could not make a mark in any seat. Janasainiks predicted easy victory for their leader in both the places. But, it didn’t happen. They are worried with the reports of the number of votes counted are higher to number of votes polled.

Urging Janasainiks not to panic in the matter, Janasena stated, “Janasainiks are worried over the reports of the number of votes counted are higher to number of votes polled. Our agent confirmed that, there’s no truth in these reports. So, we request our Janasainika not to panic and not to stage any protests in this matter.”

This is the first time Pawan Kalyan contested elections. He was expected to gain the Kapu vote in both constituencies, and the party had also hoped that he would win over the young voters. It was also expected that Pawan Kalyan would win some of the anti-incumbency votes against the Chandra Babu Naidu government. But from the results it is evident that only one party has gained from anti-incumbency and that is the YRSCP.

Meanwhile, Pawan urged the party leaders to continue working towards strengthening the organization, regardless of how the party ended up faring in the elections.
