Power Star Pawan Kalyan is not a great actor, but a charming personality with immense Fan following. After his brother- Mega Star Chiranjeevi bid adieu to films temporarily, Pawan occupied the number one spot despite scoring several flops and ruled Tollywood as number one for long.
Few months before the elections, Pawan Kalyan announced to quit films completely so as to shift his fcus completely on politics, though there have been reports that he would make comeback soon. He however lost in both Bheemavaram and Gajuwaka constituencies and his party faced humiliating defeat in the elections. The party won only one seat. Had all the diehard fans of Pawan Kalyan voted for Janasena, the Janasena Chief would have become chief minister of Andhra Pradesh.
Fans who are the prime reason for Janasena defeat in the elections claim that, it was Pawan Kalyan who influenced Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao aka KCR to take back his decision on giving permissions for the Uranium Mining at Nallamala Forest.
Telangana Municipal Administration and IT Minister KTR on behalf of CM gave clarity to those who are protesting against the government without much knowledge on the issue. He clarified that, the Telangana Government hasn’t given any permissions for the Uranium Mining and will not give permission in future either.
Speaking in the state Assembly session, KTR explained that there is a difference between exploration and mining, and that while exploration comes under the union government’s purview, mining will come under the state government’s purview.
The minister slammed the opposition and media, accusing them of fear mongering around the issue. Referring to allegations that the Krishna river water was being polluted, he said, “There is no question of contamination till the mining process is done. There is no mining right now.”
Interestingly, Pawan Kalyan fans take the credit of Telangana Government’s resolution on the issue. When the Government did not give permission, what is the use of doing protests in ‘Twitter’?
Neither Pawan Kalyan nor his Jana Sainiks ever did strong protests like KCR who fought for the separate Telangana state. KCR indeed is an inspiration for many to take up peaceful protests in various issues.
On the flip side, Pawan Kalyan who feared to contest in the assembly elections in Telangana made rude comments on the Telanganites earlier with the intention of pleasing people of Andhra. He during political campaign alleged that if people from Andhra Pradesh go to Telangana, they were being thrashed because they are Andhra people. However, the Janasena Chief received immense flak from netizens who told the leader how safe they feel in Hyderabad and other parts of Telangana.
Not just this incident, Pawan Kalyan faced severe criticism for amateurish remarks in other issues as well. “A political leader should have vast knowledge in all the issues of the state. They should analyze problems, and identify the best solutions - not based on loyalty to political party, but rather based on what is good and right and in the best interest of the state or the nation as a whole,” advice political analysts.
