The overwhelming response to the ongoing ‘Odaarpu Yathra’ launched by Kadapa MP Y. S Jaganmohan Reddy in Khammam district has elated the Congress legislator.

The visit was primarily to meet the families of persons, who died or committed suicide in the aftermath of YSR’s death in a chopper crash. The tour has also generated a lot of enthusiasm among the Congress cadres particularly the loyalists of YSR.

Jagan’s Yathra began at Gangaram village of Sathupalli mandal in Khammam district on Tuesday which was fifth day after he launched the Odaarpu Yathra. He reached Aswarao Peta in the afternoon through Mandala Palli, Dammapeta and Naravarigudem. As part of the Yathra, he unveiled the statues of YSR at Gangaram and Aswarao Peta.

Jagan called on the bereaved family of Pallapu Ramana in Dammapeta before arriving at Aswarao Peta. Rakhies were tied to Jagan by the Ramana family members on the occasion. Speaking to the family members, he said he would continue to cooperate with the family.

“Nothing can compensate the families in terms of the support they extended to my family. I will not be able to repay my gratitude to these people,” Jagan said and promised that he would try to solve the problems of the people like his father Y. S Rajasekhar Reddy did.

While Jagan was on his way to Aswarao Peta, the residents of Gunne Palli forced him to visit their village but Jagan could not accept the invitation due to the lack of time. However, he he got down from the vehicle and wished them all. By not making any political statement, he has ensured that he wanted to share the grief of all those, who died after his father’s demise.

Minister for Cooperation R Venkata Reddy, former ministers Vanama Venkateswar Rao and Marappa accompanied Jagan in the Yathra.
