Pakistani Cricketer Shoaib Malik and his Indian wife Sania Mirza are to be declared brand ambassadors of Pakistan's Population Welfare Ministry, a report emanating from Karachi media indicated this on Wednesday.
Population Welfare Minister Firdous Ashiq Awan made the announcement while speaking to Pakistani newsmen in the day before he embarked on a five-day official visit to India. Awan during the tour of India will attend the reception being hosted by the player couple in the city.
The minister hoped that the pair would play their role in spreading the message against the high birth rate in both India and Pakistan, an online news agency reported.Responding to a question, the minister said the marriage of Shoaib and Sania would help revive the stalled sub-continental peace talks.
