CM orders Collectors to help storm-hit ryots

Chief Minister K Rosaiah on Thursday ordered Collectors of all the districts which were hit by unseasonal rains and heavy winds on Wednesday, to help the victim farmers in all possible ways.

Talking to the Collectors of Prakasam, Kadapa, Chittoor and Kurnool through a video conference, Mr Rosaiah said that it was the duty of the government to come to the aid of farmers hit by heavy winds, lightening and unseasonal rains.

At least seven people were killed and heavy losses to standing crops occurred due to the storm on Wednesday evening.The Chief Minister also inquired about the condition of farmers in the four districts hit by the storm from the Chief Secretary SV Prasad.

He directed the Chief Secretary to extend all necessary help to the farmers worst hit by the storm which destroyed hundreds of standing crops, including banana and mango in various mandals.
