Prajapatham covered 2,239 panchayats

The State Government's Prajapatham teams covered 2,239 gram panchayats/wards spread across 469 constituencies in the State in the last two days.According to a press release, 64 MLAs of various political parties covered all the GPs during the programme.

Drinking water position was reported satisfactory in all the Panchayats. About 2,196 works were proposed at an estimated cost of Rs 70.34 crore in the Panchayats. About 239 works worth Rs 8.98 crore were sanctioned at the spot to mitigate the drinking water problem. 

Drinking water is provided to the people in 746 panchayats through transportation.

It was found that there was no distress migration in the GPs visited. Of the 2,239 GPs visited, 2,038 are reported to have sufficient works in the shelf. Works have been opened in 1,610 GPs and payments have been made on time in 1,647 GPs.

Nearly 7.31 lakh job cards have been issued so far in these gram panchayats duly undertaking 87,447 works worth Rs 1205.98 crores. So far 63,773 lakh muster rolls have been verified with job cards in the GPs. No deficiencies were noticed in 942 post offices visited by the teams.

Assured power supply is reported in 2,111 out of 2,239 gram panchayats. No major power complaints have been received during the visit. Small problems such as unstrung electrical lines have been rectified in 1165 GPs and low voltage problem rectified in 1170 GPs.

Arogyasree awareness was spread over 2,239 panchayats and no complaints were received. So far 10.13 lakh Arogyasree cards have been distributed.

It was noticed that people in 2,220 panchayats were aware of the services available through 108 and 104 ambulance services. The teams created awareness about the seasonal diseases --diarrhoea, chicken pox, measles and sunstroke.
